As adults in today's world...

As adults in today's world

we think there must be more to life....

...and we believe there is!

Company on the Journey:

Each of us travels our own spiritual road to find God. At Union
Church, we think that travelling together makes good sense. We learn
from each other, lend a hand to others along the road and receive
support when we are weary. There is a lot to see and do along the
way and sharing it with others makes it more fun!

Acceptance:
The United Church of Canada was created from a merger of three distinct
traditions, and acceptance of different viewpoints has been important
from the beginning. At Union, we are young, old, with grown children
or toddlers, single, married, divorced, widowed, of different sexual
orientations and gender identities, of many religious backgrounds
and levels of income. We join together to build a community where
each of us feels safe, valued and cherished.

Community:
Today’s living often seems to cut us off from each other. We don’t
know our neighbours and even lose contact with our families. At
Union Church we work hard to foster a caring community for worship,
reflection, work and play, a community where we can share the experience
of life, whether it brings a laugh or a tear.

More
Strength:
Sometimes life seems so hard we wonder where we can possible find
the strength to carry on. Our experience at Union Church is that
a close relationship with God can bring us strength to do things
we never thought we could, and to overcome obstacles that we knew
were too high. This is one of the really good reasons for taking
that spiritual journey to find God.

Opportunity to Ask the Hard Questions:
The United Church of Canada, and Union Church in particular, is
a place to ask questions about life and living, hard questions,
and to share with others the search for the answers. We know that
answering hard questions is not easy and that the answers are not
the same for everyone. We believe the promise that those who seek,
will find.

Hope:
Life is changing so fast we have no way of knowing what the future
holds, except uncertainty. Our experience at Union Church is that
our close relationship with God warms our inner selves, affirms
our own worth and potential, and frees us to hope, even when the
future looks dark.
